It’s been nearly three decades since Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s virtual band hit the airwaves with their genre-defying smash-hits, and it’s fair to say that they are as riveting, as iconic, and as interesting as they were back then - only they're on top of the mountain now. And if this is any indication of where they are headed, 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs won’t be leaving us behind any time soon - and we’re all over it!
So Washington, if you’ve never seen these guys live in concert before, now is your chance, because Gorillaz is coming to the Capital One Arena with their ‘The Mountain Tour 2026’ on 26 September 2026 alongside special guests Little Simz and Deltron 3030!
Tickets are going from as low as $96 a pop, so make sure to hit that ‘Get Tickets’ link right now to secure the best seats to the hottest, most cutting-edge concert of the season!
These guys are extraordinary, creative, innovative, and everything in between - both versions of them. The human side has cutting-edge technological wizardry down to a tee and delivers a stripped-down musical edge in intimate venues with an arena feel - and the other way around; they produce a show that feels tight and controlled, yet carefree and relaxed; and they rip through the one hit after the other like there’s no tomorrow. The virtual side does… well, pretty much the same - and they’re both next-level!
Just shy of three decades ago, former Blur frontman Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett created an alternative universe where four fictional cartoon characters form an iconic band, record and perform, and they went completely off-the-charts. Vocalist and keyboardist 2-D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, guitarist and keyboardist Noodle, and drummer Russel Hobbs were everywhere, landing the one award after the other with their smashers - from Clint Eastwood and Feel Good Inc to Dare, Dirty Harry, and El Mañana. To date both the human side and the virtual side racked up no less than 27 awards, including three Billboard Video Music Awards, a Brit Award, a GAFFA Award, a Grammy Award, and two MTV Video Music Awards.
Gorillaz has just released their ninth studio album The Mountain, hailed by critics as one of their best yet, and will be hitting the road on a massive tour in support thereof. Rumor has it that old-school fans and the younger aficionados can expect to hear the album performed in full, alongside some of the band’s most iconic hits - but these guys are so full of surprises, that we’ll have to wait and see. The The Mountain Tour 2026 is slated to kick off in mid-September in Orlando, Florida, with stops in major cities such as Charlotte, Boston, Cleveland, Austin, Salt Lake City, Oakland, New York, and Portland on the itinerary before wrapping up at the end of October 2026 in Seattle, Washington.
Gorillaz will be joined on tour by British rapper Little Simz, the hitmaker behind smashers such as Wildfires and I Love You, I Hate You, and hip hop trio Deltron 3030, the masterminds behind hits such as Deltron and Positive Contact.
So if you’ve never seen Gorillaz live in concert before, this is your chance to rectify that! Come on down to the iconic Capital One Arena - one of the nation’s hottest live entertainment venues - and enjoy an evening for the books!
