Marco Antonio Solis is a prominent and award-winning singer-songwriter from Michoacan, Mexico. The esteemed performer has had a remarkable career that has resulted in numerous accolades, including two Premio Lo Nuestros, five Latin Grammy Awards, and a coveted Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2016, he was inducted into the Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame. He was honored with the lifetime achievement award for his valuable contributions to music over the course of his four-decade career. In addition to the Hall of Fame, Solis also celebrated after being named Billboard’s Latin Artist of the Decade in 2009.

Solis launched his music career in the mid-’70s when he founded the commercially successful band Los Bukis (Little Kid). The band includes Solis’ cousin, Joel Soil, who performed with him for over 20 years. Los Bukis had a lengthy hiatus but held a much-awaited reunion in 2021. Last year, the band celebrated their 25th Anniversary with the Una Historia Cantada tour, comprising four coveted dates in select cities.

In 1996, Solis pursued his solo career and released his debut single, “Que Pena De Mas.” The song debuted at number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Track. The song, featured in his debut album En Pleno Vuelo, was followed by two more number 1 and two top 5 singles. By 1998, Solis started dropping hits from his sophomore effort, Marco, including the number 1 single, “La Venia Bendita.” Solis’s solo career has produced ten highly-acclaimed studio albums, the latest Gracias Por Estar Aqui, released in 2013. He has released 10 number-1 singles and 24 top 10 songs on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks.

Last year, Solis received a highly-prestigious recognition. He was named Person of the Year by the Latin Recording Academy. Indeed, Solis is one of the most celebrated music artists in the history of Latin Music. He’s a multi-talented performer and a remarkable songwriter, producer, and director.
