Doja Cat has finally revealed the official dates for her first headlining North American arena tour, The Scarlet Tour, which runs for a 24-date series of shows from October 31st in San Francisco to December 13th this year in Chicago.
The announcement arrives a week after she released a new single, titled "Attention" that revolves around her relationship with online commentary from fans and critics alike. Just recently, she won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo Performance for her collaboration with SZA in the fiery track, "Kiss Me More."
The Independent’s review shares how her majestic show is proof that getting out of the music scene is the very last thing this genre-skipping, near-perfect pop star should be doing. “She arrives to a wailing guitar solo – and fits in twice as many costume changes as Megan Thee Stallion managed last night – to deliver a full bells and whistles performance. It feels like a fitting riposte to those wondering where the big rock bands were on the bill this year,” the review shares.
In addition, Doja Cat has brought two of the hottest and most unique acts in the industry to open her tour performances - Ice Spice and Doechii - who have both recently gained popularity with the aid of their diverse styles in the rap genre.
Ice Spice is a New York City-based rapper whose career initially took off after featuring on tracks like “Princess Diana” by Nicki Minaj and “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” by PinkPantheress. She quickly solidified her place in the rap industry with her song “Munch (Feelin’ U),” now being referred to as the new "rap princess" by major media outlets, such as The New York Times and Billboard. On select dates, Doechii will also join the tour to open up the rapper’s set.
